How does Auto reverse module work?
What are Auto-Reverse modules? These modules do exactly as their name suggests, they automatically reverse the polarity of the reverse loop. As with the analogue wiring you do still need to isolate the four rails of your point. This is easily done by using plastic rail joiners.
Does polarity matter on DCC?
Since Digital Command Control uses a digital signal on the rails to provide both commands and power to the decoders, there is no polarity issue, as the signal consists of only logical high and low values. There is no concept of polarity with digital, as there are no positive or negative values.
What is auto reversing DCC?
The auto reverser will detect a phase mismatch across a gap in the rails, such as that found in a reverse loop or turntable, and instantly correct the situation. The DCC signal rapidly switches from one rail to the other, while the other rail is held to ground until it switches rails again.
How does a DCC auto reverser work?
This is where the auto reverser comes in. This device automatically reverses the polarity of the track it’s supplying when it detects a short. Normally when a DCC command station detects a short it shuts the power off so nothing gets damaged.
How does a Digitrax AR1 work?
The AR1 coordinates the phasing of the reversing section with that of the mainline (non-reversing) section of the layout. Because a Digitrax layout can be a complex enviroment with detection and transponding, etc. consult the approriate Digitrax user manuals and the Digitrax Tech Support Depot knowledge base.
What is a reverse loop?
A reverse loop sometimes called a balloon track because of its shape, allows a train to change direction without going in reverse. On the prototype, these tracks consume a lot of land as trains cannot handle sharp turns.
Does DCC have polarity?
Since Digital Command Control uses a digital signal on the rails to provide both commands and power to the decoders, there is no polarity issue, as the signal consists of only logical high and low values.
