Is the Environmental Science and Pollution Research a journal?
Table of Contents
ESPR articles are generally chemically oriented but cover all the broad areas within environmental science. ESPR was conceived as a truly international scientific journal. Information from ESPR should also be useful for planning lectures and university environmental curricula.
How does pollution affect our environment?
Air pollution can damage crops and trees in a variety of ways. Ground-level ozone can lead to reductions in agricultural crop and commercial forest yields, reduced growth and survivability of tree seedlings, and increased plant susceptibility to disease, pests and other environmental stresses (such as harsh weather).
What is an example of environmental impact?

Climate change including Global warming. Acid rain, photochemical smog and other forms of pollution. Ocean acidification. Displacement/extinction of wildlife.
Why is pollution good for the environment?
A study published this week in Nature argues that pollution has turned plants into better carbon dioxide processing machines. Hazy weather has allowed plants to fix 10% more carbon in the soil than they did before the 1960s, when air quality was better.
What are the causes of pollution in environment?
21.3. Causes of environmental pollution

- Urbanization and industrialization. Since the era of industrial revolution, man has continued to introduce hazardous materials into the environment at an alarming rate.
- Mining and exploration.
- Agricultural activities.
- Burning of fossil fuels.
- Particulate matter.
- Plastics.
Who funds PLoS?
It launched its first journal, PLOS Biology, in October 2003 and (as of October 2015) publishes seven journals. The organization is based in San Francisco, California, and has a European editorial office in Cambridge, Great Britain. The publications are primarily funded by payments from the authors.
