What is Melladerm gel used for?
For the treatment of superficial (contaminated) chronic, oncologic and/or acute wounds. Melladerm® Plus is designed specifically with the patients with necrotic or sloughy wounds. Melladerm® Plus offers a more gentle approach than pure honey that is known to cause pain when applied to the wound.
What is Melcura used for?
Ideal for cuts, scrapes, burns as well as non-healing wounds and ulcers. This wound gel features medical grade Fynbos honey to deeply hydrate, prevent bacterial growth, and provide an optimal environment for fast healing.
How does honey heal wounds?

The sugar naturally present in honey has the effect of drawing water out of damaged tissues (known as an osmotic effect). This reduces swelling and encourages the flow of lymph to heal the wound. Sugar also draws water out of bacterial cells, which can help keep them from multiplying.

Is honey good for wound dressing?

Honey has anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It can be used as a wound dressing to promote rapid and improved healing. These effects are due to honey’s anti-bacterial action, secondary to its high acidity, osmotic effect, anti-oxidant content and hydrogen peroxide content.
When do you use TheraHoney?
TheraHoney® HD is indicated for use on partial and full-thickness wounds, leg ulcers, pressure injuries, first- and second-degree burns, diabetic foot ulcers, surgical wounds and trauma wounds under the supervision of a health care professional.
When do you take L-Mesitran?
L-Mesitran Ointment is indicated for:
- Chronic wounds e.g pressure ulcers, venous and diabetic ulcers.
- Superficial and acute wounds e.g. cuts, abrasions and donor sites.
- Superficial and partial thickness burns (1st and 2nd degree)
- Fungating wounds (to help deodorise and debride)
- Colonised and acute wounds.
What is the use of L-Mesitran?
Dynarex® L-Mesitran® Soft is indicated for use on chronic wounds, pressure ulcers (stages 1-4), venous stasis ulcers, fungating wounds, colonized acute wounds, surgical wounds, post-operative wounds, traumatic wounds (superficial wounds, cuts), and superficial and partial-thickness burns.
