What is the winter cape?
The Winter Cape is a vanity equip item sold by the Travelling Merchant NPC. He sells it randomly. It is a royal blue color with a white furry trim.
What’s the difference between cape and cloak?
The main difference between cloak and cape is the size. A cloak falls below the knee or to the ground and protects the wearer from the weather. Capes end at the waist or mid-thigh. Unlike cloaks, a cape is often used for fashion purposes.
Are capes good for cold weather?
Capes aren’t exactly all that warm, so they are actually perfect for transition seasons because you can layer them up and you won’t get too hot because the cold air can get in quite easily. A cape is not a substitute for a heavy winter jacket.
What is a short cape called?
A short cape is often called a cowl. Modern “cowls” are mostly overgrown scarves, but if you look up “medieval cowl” you will see shoulder-length cloaks, usually with hoods.
Are cloaks actually warm?
Actually on Larps I found out that cloaks are much more warmer solution than jackets, have to guess but I think because they trap the air around your body. A thin layer of fabric cloak has more warming effect than the same or even a bit thicker layer of jacket/robe.
Are cloaks comfortable?
I have a wool cloak I wear to Ren Faires when I feel like dressing up. Regardless of the climate, it’s absurdly comfortable – tons of loose weave material that’s easily shifted to cover more or less of me as necessary. It’s like wearing a light blanket.
